SMOOTHBORE PTFE HOSE ASSEBMLIES:

A PTFE Compatiable fitting can be indetifed by a Flared Socket which also contains an Aluminium Olive. Identical to the Brake and Clutch lines assembly, the fitter must  place the olive between the PTFE lining and the outer stainless steel braid, so when the socket is tightened, the olive compresses the hose to create a very effective seal suitable for high pressure fuel and oil. The compressed olive ensures that the assmebly is vapour free making it suitable for the interior cockpit of a car.

These fittings are reusable so that they can be used time and time again but will require replacement olives. If the hose itself is damaged, just disassemble, clean, lubricate and reassemble with a new olive and a new piece of hose.
