Goodridge fuel, oil and water fitting advice

FUEL, OIL & WATER FITTINGS

Goodridge have designed two styles of fittings suitable for Fuel, Oil and Water transfer systems, which although look quite similar, are used for different applications, depending on its postition within the build or in fact, the type of adjoining hose. Find out more below......

236 SERIES FITTINGS (RUBBER LINED HOSES):

236 fittings are compatiable with the 200 or 210 series hoses, most commonly used for fuel and oil line installations. 236 Fittings are available in the traditional Blue and Red Anodised Aluminium finish or for that classic OEM Apearance, select are also available in Black Anodised Aluminium making these fittings and hose an invaluable part of your fuel or oil system.

Suitable Applications:

  • Fuel
  • Oil
  • Coolant
  • Water
  • Methanol

Available derivations:

All fittings feature 360° swivel and are available in sizes -06 JIC to -12 JIC;

  • Straights
  • 45° Swept
  • 60° Swept
  • 90° Swept
  • 120° Swept
  • 150° Swept
  • 180° Swept

Self Cutting Technology:

A 'Self Cutting' fitting is one which cuts into the rubber of the hose upon assembly, as well as compressing the hose to create a very effective seal suitable for high pressure fuel and oil.

These fittings are reusable so that they can be used time and time again without the need for replacement olives. If the hose itself is damaged, just disassemble, clean, lubricate and reassemble with a new piece of hose.

236 Fittings

Advantages of the 236 series Fittings in an Assembly:

  • Proven reliability
  • Easy to self assemble
  • Reusable
  • Lightweight plumbing solution over steel fittings at an affordable cost
  • Comprehensive range of fittings available.

Disadvantages of the 236 series Fittings in an Assembly:

These fittings are designed for use with a nitirle rubber hose, which in turn is not ideal for use within the cockpit of a car due vaporising fuel odour.

600 SERIES FITTINGS (PTFE LINED HOSES):

600 Series fittings are compatiable with the 600 series hose, most commonly used for fuel installations travelling through the cockpit. Alike the 236 Fittings, the 600 Series Fittings are available in the traditional Blue and Red Anodised Aluminium finish or for that classic OEM Apearance, select are also available in Black Anodised Aluminium making these fittings and hose an invaluable part of your fuel or oil system.

Suitable Applications:

  • Fuel
  • Oil
  • Water
  • Dampers

Available derivations:

All fittings feature 360° swivel and are available in sizes -06 JIC to -08 JIC;

  • Banjos
  • Straights
  • 45° Forged/Swept
  • 90° Forged/Swept
  • 120° Swept

Smoothbore PTFE Hose Assebmlies:

A PTFE Compatiable fitting can be indetifed by a Flared Socket which also contains an Aluminium Olive. Identical to the Brake and Clutch lines assembly, the fitter must  place the olive between the PTFE lining and the outer stainless steel braid, so when the socket is tightened, the olive compresses the hose to create a very effective seal suitable for high pressure fuel and oil. The compressed olive ensures that the assmebly is vapour free making it suitable for the interior cockpit of a car.

These fittings are reusable so that they can be used time and time again but will require replacement olives. If the hose itself is damaged, just disassemble, clean, lubricate and reassemble with a new olive and a new piece of hose.

600 Fittings

Advantages of the 600 series Fittings in an Assembly:

  • Proven reliability
  • Lightweight
  • Easy to self assemble
  • Reusable
  • Vapor free enviorment
  • Efficent
  • Comprehensive range of fittings available.
