Citroen C3 R5 lands in UK and Ireland

The first Citroen Racing C3 R5 to hit either UK or Ireland landed in Belfast last month, with no fuss, no fanfare or noise.
The DGM Sport outfit, based in Carryduff quietly took delivery of the slick new model which is currently destined for the hands of Jonny Greer in the Irish Tarmac Rally Championship. After a handful of test sessions, Greer was due to launch the C3 R5 into the lanes around Clonakilty for the West Cork Rally – Covid 19 put paid to that.
So, what has taken the C3 R5 so long to come to our shores? We have an abundance of R5 machinery in the UK and Ireland and no shortage of youngsters aiming for the top, or gentlemen drivers eager to learn how to drive the nimble, more aggressive weapons.
The stats stack up well.
According to our friends at www.ewrc-results.com, the C3 R5 has enjoyed some impressive results since its debut event at Rallye du Var in 2017.

In amongst the VW Polo’s, Ford Fiesta’s and Hyundai i20’s there is very much a new kid on the block and if its World Rally Championship performance is anything to go by – against the factory and private teams, the C3 R5 will be a force to be reckoned with when we all get back to normal.
Looks good too doesn’t it….
