Meet the Team: Rosie joins Race & Rally in Ramelton
Race & Rally has welcomed a new member to its growing team, with Rosie recently joining the company as a Sales Assistant at the Ramelton store in County Donegal.
Rosie brings a genuine passion for motorsport to the role, having grown up in a car-mad family where different vehicles regularly passed through the gates. From her dad’s love of Minis to Subarus and Evos owned by other family members, cars were always part of everyday life. Despite this, her love for rallying came slightly later than many involved in the sport.
That all changed in 2022 when the family decided to convert a Mini R50 into a rally car. From that moment on, Rosie was hooked.
“I started wanting to follow the rallies all around Ireland and there was nothing I’d rather do than stand in muddy, wet fields watching the cars fly past,” she says. “By that stage I well and truly had caught the bug for rallying and there was no going back.”
Her interest quickly developed into hands-on experience. In February 2023, Rosie began competing in the Rally Sport Association Mini Cup, enjoying time both behind the wheel and in the co-driver’s seat. She also embraced the mechanical side of the sport, helping with repairs to the engine, bodywork and everything in between.
Her growing involvement in rallying soon expanded beyond competing. After meeting well-known Irish rally driver Declan Boyle at a rally appreciation night, Rosie asked if she could attend a test session. That opportunity soon led to helping out the team at events, assisting in the service area alongside Clarise and the Crozier family.
One of her most memorable experiences so far came while sweeping the Bishopscourt rally stages, where Rosie co-drove for R7R colleague Clarise Crozier in a Peugeot Rally6, a day she describes as fantastic.
Away from rally events, Rosie also helps out with LDR Buggy Hire and lends a hand at RSA events whenever possible.
Now part of the Race & Rally team, Rosie has quickly settled into her role. As a parts sales adviser, she answers customer enquiries, packs orders and assists with website work, enjoying the variety the position brings.
“From day one I have felt warmly welcomed into the doors of Race and Rally both here in Ramelton with Ryan and also when I went to meet the rest of the team in Lisburn,” she explains.
Looking ahead, Rosie is particularly excited about attending rallies with the Race & Rally support vans, helping customers while experiencing the atmosphere of events first-hand.
